Economic diplomacy in practice: roundtable discussion with economic and commercial attachés

On 25 June the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) hosted a roundtable discussion analysing the opportunities of Hungary in terms of export and investment promotion, based on the experiences of economic and commercial attachés. As participants of the roundtable three attachés were invited - Zsuzsanna László from Sao Paulo, Ferenc Fási from Beijing and Domonkos Lakner from Copenhagen.

In the discussion the guests first gave an insight to the work of an economic and commercial attaché, sharing some details on the challenge of adapting to the host country’s environment. The three diplomats analysed the export potential of the given country from the perspective of Hungarian small and medium sized enterprises. Besides they evaluated the significance of Brazil, China and Denmark in terms of investor companies in Hungary.
