H.E. Sam Kahamba Kutesa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Uganda paid an official visit to Hungary. As part of his agenda, he held a public lecture on 13 September 2018 at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade about the role of Uganda in the East African region. The Minister talked about the political, economic and security challenges of Uganda. His Excellency emphasised the achievements of his country and the possibilities for potential investors in the region. He highlighted the role of Uganda in the security and the stabilization of the East African region, including the peacekeeping efforts in Somalia and the peace-building in South Sudan. Answering questions from the audience, the Minister touched upon the topic of a peaceful economic initiative and cooperation between Uganda and Kenya, while he also emphasized the importance of eliminating non-tariff barriers in working towards regional integration.
