In the Limelight of Global Players: KAS – IFAT Western Balkans Conference 2018

Budapest, 1st March 2018 Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Bérc utca 15, 1016 Budapest

In 2017 we could witness important changes in the international discourse about the Western Balkans which is receiving more and more attention both from the European Union and other European and non-European actors. The increased rivalry among the external actors has important political, economic and security consequences that will affect the future of the Western Balkan countries.

With all this in mind after the first successful Western Balkans Conference in February 2017, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Budapest decided to organize a second conference in 2018 in order to continue the exchange of opinions and views on the developments in the Western Balkan region. The main aim of the event is to examine the region from the external stakeholders’ perspective. The KAS-IFAT Western Balkans Conference 2018 will provide a unique opportunity for the participants and the audience to get a better understanding of the European and non-European actors’ interests and motivations behind their actions in the Western Balkans.

The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung have the pleasure to invite you to the symposium entitled In the 'Limelight of Global Players’
