Today’s international trading system is characterised by continuous change and tensions that have not be seen for a long time. The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade has organised a roundtable discussion in order to evaluate the most important ongoing trends and developments of international trade. The event was moderated by Péter Goreczky, colleague of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
On 14th February 2019, H.E. Teodoro L. Locsin Jr., Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines delivered a public lecture at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT), entitled „Independent and sovereign: The foreign policy of the Philippines in a changing global order”.
Experts from Portugal, Finland, Germany and Hungary discussed crisis management in the Eurozone and the challenges facing the Economic and Monetary Union in a roundtable discussion at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
On 7 December 2018 the University of Szeged Faculty of Law and Political Sciences hosted the most recent event of the “Ask the Expert!” roundtable-discussion series titled “Syria – A Battleground for Great Powers?” Péter Wagner Ph.D, Máté Szalai, Bence Németh and Zoltán Egeresi represented the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade at the event, moderated by Márton Sulyok, Ph.D, Assistant Professor at the Faculty.
Ivana Karaskova, senior researcher on China of Prague based AMO (Association for International Affairs) and lecturer of Charles University delivered an open lecture at IFAT on the image and influence of China in the CEE region on 1st of February.
On 4th February 2019, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “Innovation in the Hungarian defense sector”, which focused on the outlook for research + development activities within the Hungarian armed forces.
