EU Integration Process of the WB6 – The View from Gellért Hill (2019/3)

Despite the regular reaffirmation of credible European perspective of the Western Balkans, the General Affairs Council meeting in June postponed the decision regarding the start of accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania. The next episode of our podcast series was recorded on the sideline of the event that was organized as part of the project entitled ‘Regional cooperation in the Western Balkans: The Berlin Process and Visegrad Group in comparison’ before the next summit of the Berlin Process in Poznan so the discussion aims to highlight the challenges of the EU integration process of the WB6, including the resolution of bilateral disputes and the importance of regional cooperation and connectivity agenda supported by the Berlin process.

The participants also pointed out various areas where the Visegrad Group could provide valuable support to the integration process of the Western Balkans. Jelica Minić, vice president of the European Movement in Serbia, Ivan Nikolovski, junior researcher of the Centre for European Integration of Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” – Skopje were the discussing partners of Anna Orosz, research fellow of IFAT.
