Hungary and China: 70 years of diplomatic relations in a changing World

After the book launch event on December 12 in Budapest, on December 18 the delegation of IFAT has presented the volume titled “Hungary and China: 70 years of diplomatic relations in a changing World” in Beijing as well, which was compiled to commemorate the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Hungary and the PRC.

Director of IFAT, Márton Ugrósdy underlined the importance of people to people contacts, which the volume also covers. Several articles are investigating the topic, for example the chapter on the reception of Chinese poetry in Hungary, another on the bilateral higher education exchange programs or another one on the Chinese perceptions on the migration of the Hungarian nation provide previously unpublished insights into the common history of the two nations. The book, which was made available with the kind support of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was simultaneously published in Hungarian, English and Chinese, as a result of our collaboration with the China-CEE Institute and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
