It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our colleague Aladár Gogola at the age of 62.
Aladár Gogola was born on 11 August 1956 to teacher parents. He studied at Flóra Martos High School, specializing in biology. However, his interests turned toward history early on, which he satisfied by taking a job at the library of the Institute of History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 1991, he joined the László Teleki Foundation, working in the Library and Documentation Service until the dissolution of the foundation. In 2007, the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs – later on, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade – became his new workplace, close to his heart. He loved and assisted the Institute in every way, earning the trust and respect of his colleagues.
The Insitute for Foreign Affairs and Trade said goodbye to Aladár today at the cemetery of Óbuda.
He will be missed and remembered, may he rest in peace.
