    Reconciliation processes in the V4 and Western Balkans

    In cooperation with the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in the Czech Republic, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade hosted a presentation of case studies on the reconciliation processes in the Visegrad and the Western Balkan countries on October 30, 2019. The case studies have been prepared as part of the project entitled ‘From Warsaw to Tirana: Overcoming the past together’, which is financially supported by the International Visegrad Fund.

    Roundtable discussion about the Polish Parliamentary Elections

    On 15th of October 2019, a roundtable discussion titled ‘Parliamentary Elections in Poland’, organized by the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Wacław Felczak Foundation, took place in the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade. The topic of the roundtable discussion were the Polish Parliamentary Elections and the consequences held on 13th of October 2019. Dr. Anna Wisniewski (Senior Researcher, IFAT) discussed the results and significance of the Polish parliamentary election with Sándor Ackermann (Analyst, IFAT), Nikolett Garai (Research Fellow, IFAT) and Péter Dobrowiecki (Director, EU–V4 Office, Antall József Knowledge Centre).

    Political outlook after the EU elections

    The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade hosted a roundtable discussion on the results of the elections to the European Parliament on June 6, 2019. Nikolett Garai, Tamás Levente Molnár and Barnabás Szabó, all research fellows of our Institute, apart from drawing up general conclusions from the elections, gave detailed analysis of the results from the Visegrad countries, the Iberian Peninsula, the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria, and exchanged their views on the most important challenges facing the new legislature. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Máté Szalai, senior researcher of the Institute.

    Joint conference of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and IFAT

    The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs organised a joint conference in Jerusalem on the 3rd of June, 2019. Participants of the event entitled “In Search of Stability and Development – Common Challenges and Solutions between Central Europe and Israel” evaluated the relations between Israel and our region in the light of the results of the European Parliamentary elections.
