    The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade held a roundtable-discussion titled „Political and Economic Reforms in Ukraine as a window of cooperation with EU” on 20 November where Sergiy Solodkyy, the First Deputy Director of the New Europe Center, Yehor Kyian, analyst of the International Centre for Policy Studies participated alongside with Sándor Ackermann, analyst of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade.

    Roundtable discussion about the Polish Parliamentary Elections

    On 15th of October 2019, a roundtable discussion titled ‘Parliamentary Elections in Poland’, organized by the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Wacław Felczak Foundation, took place in the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade. The topic of the roundtable discussion were the Polish Parliamentary Elections and the consequences held on 13th of October 2019. Dr. Anna Wisniewski (Senior Researcher, IFAT) discussed the results and significance of the Polish parliamentary election with Sándor Ackermann (Analyst, IFAT), Nikolett Garai (Research Fellow, IFAT) and Péter Dobrowiecki (Director, EU–V4 Office, Antall József Knowledge Centre).

    A bridge of understanding between Hungary and Ukraine

    On September 25, 2019 international discussion ”A bridge of understanding between Hungary and Ukraine” was held. The roundtable was the first joint event of the Ukrainian International Centre for Policy Studies (ICPS) and the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) in 2019. The topic of the event was the current situation of Hungarian-Ukrainian relations and a deeper understanding of the conflict issues.

    How to deal with Russia, Ukraine and other neighbours in the East

    What are the main opportunities and challenges of a new European eastern policy? This was the central question of the lecture of Ambassador Michael Siebert, Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia in the German Federal Foreign Office. The lecture was titled “How to deal with Russia, Ukraine and other neighbours in the East”, and took place on 16 September at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT). The lecture was followed by a discussion during which the participants talked about the rapprochement possibilities of the Member States of the EU’s Eastern Partnership, the domestic political developments in Ukraine, and disputes concerning the Nord Stream 2 project.
