Turkish-Hungarian relations in the changing regional and global environment – joint conference organized by IFAT and SAM

The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade organized a joint online conference with the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Center for Strategic Research of Turkey on the 3rd of November, 2020. The researchers of the two institutions discussed the most important issues of Hungarian-Turkish relations and their regional and global context. The list of speakers of the five panel event included Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Péter Sztáray, State Secretary for Defence Policy, as well as Akif Oktay and Viktor Mátis, the ambassadors of the two countries in Ankara and Budapest. The discussion touched upon the topics of bilateral economic and cultural ties, relations between the European Union and Turkey, regional security challenges, as well as the effects of the current American elections.
