    Conference in Warsaw on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Poland’s Membership in the OECD

    On November 22, Márton Ugrósdy, director of IFAT and Péter Goreczky, senior analyst participated in Warsaw in the conference titled ‘The 25th Anniversary of Poland’s Membership in the OECD’. Held in the building of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the event was attended by several high-ranking diplomats, politicians and experts.

    Book Launch: Máté Szalai – The Foreign Policy of Smaller Gulf States: Size, Power, and Regime Stability in the Middle East

    On the 19th of October, 2021, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) – in cooperation with Routledge Publishing – hosted an online book launch of the work of Máté Szalai entitled “The Foreign Policy of Smaller Gulf States: Size, Power, and Regime Stability in the Middle East”. Besides the author, two scholars shared their views on the volume: Luciano Zaccara (Assistant Professor of the Gulf Studies Center at Qatar University) and László Csicsmann (Associate Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest). The discussion was moderated by Nikolett Garai, a researcher of the Institute.

    Regional Integration in the Union for the Mediterranean

    On the 30th September, 2021, The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) had the chance to host His Excellency Nasser Kamel, the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean. Amb. Kamel held a lecture entitled ‘Regional Integration in the Union for the Mediterranean’ in which he elaborated on a recently published study focusing on measuring the level of integration in the Mediterranean region. The moderator of the event was Máté Szalai, a senior research fellow of IFAT and senior lecturer of Corvinus University of Budapest.

    Security Policy Trends in Asia from Afghanistan to North Korea

    On 18 October 2021, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) hosted a webinar entitled Security Policy Trends in Asia from Afghanistan to North Korea, which was moderated by Tamás Péter Baranyi, IFAT Deputy Director for Strategy. The participating experts were Péter Wagner, IFAT Senior Research Fellow, Tibor Mezei, IFAT Research Fellow, and András Bartók, instructor at the Department for International Relations and Diplomacy, National Public Service University.
